words of wisdom from classic cinema

I like old black and white movie.  There's no shock value, no sex appeal, no computer generated images.  They had to rely on good actors, a good script, and wit; imagine that!  The other night I decided to watch Harvey with James Stewart, and there was a line that I loved:

Years ago, my mother used to say to me, she'd say "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart, or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart... I recommend pleasant. You may quote me. ~ Elwood P. Dowd (James Stewart's character)

Words to live by.  Perhaps we could all use a little Harvey in our lives.
