I saw this little creature while I was sitting on my front steps a while ago, and just saw another one this week. I had never seen anything like this before, or even heard of it. I started googling baby hummingbirds because at first that's what I thought it was. They are very neat looking, but the two I saw flew away before I had a chance to call the kids over.
