memory making at midnight

Not too long ago Jeremy was talking to me about how he feels like he doesn't get enough quality time with the kids. I reminded him that one of the many joys of homeschooling means that we don't have to keep a traditional schedule, and we can set up our lives any way that works for us. Last night Genna was having trouble sleeping, and was too restless to read a book or watch a movie. Jeremy decided it would be fun to teach her how to play Monopoly. (we got a neat Disney edition a while back, but hadn't really taught the kids how to properly play yet since it was a bit above their level) She and Jeremy sat down to play at 11:45pm, and played until after one in the morning! I sat at the table sewing while they played, listening to their silly competitive banter, and thinking how wonderful it is that our kids are at home. Genna had no where to be this morning, so it didn't matter one bit to me if she stayed up late and slept in a bit today. These moments are what make life GREAT.

I AGREE! Isn't the beauty of homeschooling that much more apparent at moments like these?! May God give your family more of these "precious moments" ...
